'Colon cleansing', 'natural colon cleansing, 'herbal colon cleansing', 'colon therapy' are different terms to refer to a procedure or a therapy whose main aim is to cleanse the colon. A thorough 'colon cleansing' could take anywhere between 3 to 4 weeks stretching up to a month, depending on the level of stored toxins, etc. A good number of supplements may have to be used for a proper colon cleansing, including a few days of fasting.
If you ask yourself, why one needs to go through the process of colon cleansing, the answer probably lies in another question - why people suffer from constipation. When we have less bowel movement, than what is considered healthy, or the transit time for accumulated toxic waste in our body is long, our body is exposed to food being putrefied and ferment inside the bowel. This will help in achieving freedom from mucoid plaque. Develop the habit of regular defecation and let not any toxin material accumulate inside your bowel or colon.
